The Sherwood Forest Association Board of Directors Executive Committee provides organizational direction on behalf of the board on decisions and business matters that come up between board meetings ranging from strategy issues, risk issues and or contracts or obligations that cannot wait for decisions.
PurposeThis executive committee exists to supplement the work of the entire board. The bylaws of an organization can allow the Executive Committee to make decisions on behalf of the board in carefully defined circumstances, e.g., in an organizational crisis or emergency. In addition, the Executive Committee must maintain accurate and complete financial records, including the regular presentation of financial statements to the board. They also preside over budget preparation with help from the Treasurer.
Composition
The Executive Committee will be chaired by a member of the board president and will consist of up to five individuals. A vice-chair may be appointed by the Board President or selected by the members of the committee.
Duties of Executive Committee Chair/President, Board of Directors
The Executive Committee Chair/ President, Board of Directors will convene meetings, set agendas and facilitate meetings. In the absence of the chair, the vice chair, if appointed, will facilitate the meetings. The chair will maintain open and constructive relations with the president of the full board.
Traffic Calming Sub-Committee

Preserving the historic character and charm of our neighborhood.
PurposeThis committee educates our neighbors about what it means to live in an historic district and helps residents to work with the Detroit Historic District Commission This committee exists to ensure the health, safety and beauty of Sherwood Forest by monitoring compliance with the Sherwood Forest property restrictions, as well as zoning and property maintenance provisions of the Detroit City Code.

Communications and Outreach Committee
Charge Serve as the voice for the board and board committees in writing, post or other communication styles that sustain and maintain the values and quality of our neighborhood. PurposeThis committee manages all communications, public relations functions and informational social media requirements for the Sherwood Forest community, and Sherwood Forest Association Board of Directors to ensure two-‐way communication channels are functioning. Composition The Communications and Outreach Committee will be chaired by a member of the board and will consist of up to five individuals. A vice-chair may be appointed by the Board President or selected by the members of the committee. Website Sub-Committee This group is tasked with updating the current site as well as building a new, modern site with improved functionality and abilities to make the site more useful. The website should be the main communications tool and hub for the neighborhood.
